THE DL: A group of six criminals are caught off guard when their robbery is swarmed with police officers. When one of their own gets killed at the scene of the crime, the rest begin to get antsy and realize that one of their own is working for the police.
RESIDENT BAMF: In a movie filled with BAMFs, it’s difficult to choose just one to reign supreme. On one hand, you have Mr. Blonde, who is definitely the guy you would call for an impromptu torture session. But Mr. Pink is the overall smarts and strategy that get him BAMF status.
WHAT A QT! (CLASSIC QUENTIN MOMENT): The opening diner scene, when discussing Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” and whether or not it is socially acceptable to not tip waitresses. Blending the frivolity of popular music with the socio-economic problems women face in the working world, a delightful mix.
PLAY THE FUNKY MUSIC: “Stuck in the Middle With You” by Stealers Wheel, in the context of this film, will definitely make you watch that Frosted Mini Wheats Strawberry/Blueberry commercial with a new perspective. The mix of the jaunty popular tune and the face-cutting in the scene really adds a juxtaposition that leaves you giggling in a lot of discomfort.
